Setting the Overvoltage Tolerance Time on Huawei Inverters
When installing a system that connects to the grid, certain grid protection parameters are specified in the Technical-Economic Information (MGT in Hungary). These parameters are configured using a grid code, within which the overvoltage tolerance duration can also be set.
In this article, we explain how to adjust this parameter. It is important to note that this adjustment is necessary because Hungary does not have its own grid code, so installers usually use the German or General EU grid code. However, Hungarian distribution operators allow a longer tolerance time, which should be taken into account. Currently, the permitted duration for the first-level overvoltage exceedance is 1 minute.
Steps:
- Log in to the FusionSolar application.
- Select the plant where you want to make the adjustment.
- Use the small arrow next to the plant to expand the list of devices.

- Select the inverter.
- Open the Configuration menu.

- Find the Protection Parameters section.

- Locate the 10 minute OV protection time (ms) setting.

- Enter the appropriate value for 1 minute in milliseconds (60000).
- (The default value is 100 ms — this is a significant difference.)
- (The default value is 100 ms — this is a significant difference.)
