Deye Inverter Smart Load Setup

In the following, we will discuss the use, configuration, and operation of the Smart Load Output found on Deye inverters.

By entering the settings, you will find the configuration options for the Smart Load Output under the Gen Port Use menu.

In this menu, you will also find the settings for Generator Mode. You can choose between two modes depending on how you intend to use the Gen port output.

The Smart Load Output is specifically designed to control certain loads (typically those with higher power demand) and to supply them with energy only when there is excess generated power or sufficient battery capacity available. In this mode, the Gen input connector functions as an output and supplies power to the load when the PV generation or the battery state of charge exceeds the user-defined threshold values.

These values can be configured under the OFF and ON settings — both voltage level and percentage can be adjusted.
For example: ON: 100%, OFF: 95%.
This means that if PV generation exceeds 500 W and the battery is at 100%, the Smart Load port will switch on and supply energy to the connected load. When the battery’s state of charge drops to 95%, the Smart Load output will automatically switch off.
